Parents, in the 2015-2016 school year, all students in grades 7-12 will be issued a Chromebook device.  To help you and your child prepare for this, the Lauderdale County School System will conduct a series of informative parent meetings at each high school during the month of April.  Stay tuned for more information about when the meetings will be held.  If you are unable to attend a meeting at your child's school, you will be more than welcome to attend a meeting at another school.  Thank you for supporting this endeavour to provide increased opportunities for your child to be a successful student in the Lauderdale County School System!

The Lauderdale County School System consists of 10 schools and is located in the heart of the beautiful Tennessee Valley.  Lauderdale County Schools have a tradition of producing some of the best students in the Northwest Alabama area since our first class graduated in 1913.  Our schools are committed to excellence as we educate Alabama's future leaders and workers.  Through the combined efforts of dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and cooperative communities, Lauderdale County students are provided with a solid education.

Just what is the Common Core?  There is a lot of misinformation circulating about the Common Core Standards, which is what Alabama's College and Career Readiness Standards are based upon.  Here is a video that might help you, as a parent, better understand exactly what the Common Core standards are.
